Dave Jones was announced as the new manager of npower League One side Sheffield Wednesday at the start of March 2012. After leading the club to five wins and a draw in his first month in charge, he was awarded the divisional Manager of the Month award, reigniting the Owls’ promotion charge. It was the fifth appointment in a 17-year managerial career for the popular Liverpudlian – one that started with Stockport County in 1995 for whom he earned promotion to the second tier.

After three years with Southampton, he took charge at Wolverhampton Wanderers, guiding the club into Premier League for the first time in 2004. Most recently, Jones was at Cardiff City, earning the Welsh side Championship play-off finishes, as well as an FA Cup final place in 2008.

As a player, Jones was a fearless defender for Everton, Coventry City and Preston North End.
